I know that most of you have summer in your mind (at least I do, it’s still cold and snowy in Estonia), but fashion designers are way ahead of this season and their fall-winter 2013-14 collections are published.

Some creative people have a lot of patience along with their talent. I don’t, and I admire those who can work for something glamorous for weeks, if not for months.
Like this wonderful crochet wedding dress! Unfortunately the seller doesn’t say how long it takes to make one of these, but I don’t believe it’s less than a month or two.
All motifs are crocheted separately and then combined with the grid.

I decided to sell this dress too. This is OOAK knit/crochet dress, which I will never make again and I also don’t plan to write a pattern so other could knit it.

I promised to show one more dress and here it is. Actually it was finished just a few days ago, but the journey to the result was very long.
Green crocheted motifs were first part of something else, which looked like this.
I was never really satisfied with the result, so I decided to unravel it. But I liked the motifs and they deserved to have a new life.
For knitting I used same unravelled yarn, it took about 200g of Novita Kotiväki, 100% cotton.

Since I quit my full time marketing job more than a month ago, I’ve been knitting more and more.
Summer is coming and it inspires to make more light weather designs, like this cotton summer dress on the photo.
Yarn: Titan Wool Egitto, 6 skeins
Needles: 3,5mm
Size made: S/M
The yarn is quite stretchy, so I’m thinking of designing 2 different sizes – S/M and L/XL, with different cup sizes, so everyone can choose perfect for them. Yes, correct – it means I plan to write a pattern for this dress! It probably takes a few weeks, but it’s no 1 on my “to-do” list.
I have more new stuff to show off, they will be posted a bit later.

Like every year, I want to share some photos of world’s best fashion designers ready-to-wear collections. Of course they are all about knitwear!
In fall/winter 2012 Moshino Cheap and Chick definitely rocks! I love the colors and this grandma-style.
Sonia Rykiel is a knitwear queen, but it seems like every year there are less and less knitted items on her collection. But I managed to find some:

and Pringle of Scotland – probably the best luxury knitwear company in the world (at least if you care about my opinion)!

Seems like top designers doesn’t value knits this fall 2011 season. As previously, I browsed Style.com to find some interesting knits from different collections, but didn’t find much.

I scared you off with the previous winter post, didn’t I?
I must admit it’s almost 30C in Estonia and I’m probably only one thinking of fall/winter season. Not because I wait it so much, but knitters like I am can’t leave it to last minute either.
Today I left my knitting needles home and I’ve been searching for perfect summer dress on Etsy.
You know what’s ironic about it? First dresses I saved to my list were all made in China.
I believe handmade items can be made in Asian countries too, but after seeing the photos and descriptions I’m not so sure if they are handmade, so just to be sure, I won’t feature them here.I’ve read a lot about resellers on Etsy but until now I didn’t think I’ve even seen any myself.
So the task was not as easy as I hoped, but I found several dresses I like and I want to share them with you.

However, in last few weeks I’ve been shopping much. All shops are filled with purple items, so I think it should be some kind of fashion color this fall.
I haven’t been a big fan of purple, but more I see it, more I like.
New York’s fashion designers emphasize purple in the top five tones used in their collections. Purple has become staple, but also blue, chocolate brown and steel grey.
